PRINCESS KELECHI OGHENE is the Managing Director & Chief Executive Officer of a group of companies GMYT FASHION ACADEMY, GAHAWARDS ,GMYT HOSTEL APARTMENT & GMYT FOUNDATION”. The optimistic philosophy that she has adopted has been much solace to her in her journey towards achieving her goals and being a big reader with a strong appetite for learning these prompted her to attend several workshops and training.
Today we are proud to say that she has bagged several degrees and qualifications from notable institutions. She is an alumna of Lagos State University, Lagos Business School, London School of Fashion, Harvard Business School, she is also a current student of NETHERLANDS BUSINESS SCHOOL, just to mention but a few. These and more have made her more structured and exceptional in her business dealings.
She has also bagged over 40 awards some of which are: Ecowas Designer of The Year, Nigerian Entrepreneurs Award for Most Enterprise Personality of The Year, Symbol of Hope Awards for African Woman of Impact. Nigerian British Award for Supporting the Fashion Industry etc. She is an ex beauty queen of Orange drugs, and also a member of Fashion Designers Association of Nigeria (FADAN).
Princess Kelechi Oghene is a philanthropist and in the last few years she has used her several birthed platform to trained & graduate over a thousand women and youths that are now skilled in the fashion industry, provided over five hundred scholarships worth two hundred million naira, empowered over five hundred women and youths with Industrial/electric Sewing Machine each through GMYT FOUNDATION. She has donated about five million naira to support young business initiatives through GMYT SME support scheme, provided free accommodations for students of Gmyt fashion academy in partnership with Gmyt Hostel Apartment.
In the last 9years she has organized and awarded over 200 individual/organization that are contributing positively to societal growth, the event also features GAHAWRDS Magazine and exclusive runway designs via GAHAWARDS LTD.
Her hobbies includes reading and golfing. She is a member of Ikoyi golf club and has won over 20 golf trophies both Local and international golf competitions and she has also sponsored series of golf competitions.
Kelechi Oghene hasbeen able to conduct free entrepreneurial sessions, seminars and workshops for women and has trained over 200 women and countless youths on scholarships in couture, dressmaking and fashion design.
In the last 9years Kelechi has organized and awarded over 200 individual/organization that contributed positively to societal growth in an exclusive annual high profileevent which also features GAHAWRDS Magazine launchings and exquisite runway designs via GAHAWARDS LTD.
In keeping with her commitment to eradicate poverty by training and empowering women with the necessary skillset to thrive and become financially independent, Kelechi has resolved to increase on yearly basis, the number of beneficiaries of the GMYT FOUNDATION Entrepreneurial programme and has indeed commenced training of over 500 Small and Medium Scale Entrepreneurs (SMEs) drawn from various parts of Nigeria.
The beneficiaries of this scheme will be trained in various aspects of fashion and will also be given monetary gifts valued in Millions of Naira which said gifts are designed to be seed capital for their respective fashion businesses. Princess Kelechi in her philanthropic efforts has provided over five hundred scholarships worth two hundred million naira ($400,000) in the last five years.
